Patient Guide

Consultations are bulk billed for patients who hold a valid Medicare Card. However, fees are charged for medicals and minor surgical procedures. Our staff is happy to discuss possible fees and charges and we do not accept s cash or cheque.

Fees are payable on the day of consultation. Cash, cheque, EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa card are accepted.

Patients in genuine financial hardship should talk to their doctor, as no patient will be turned away due to financial hardship.

We encourage  you to make an appointment before arrival. We do our best to address your needs in a timely manner.  For all appointments please phone 9481 7773 or  book appointments  online  through our web site ( www.wphmedicalcentre.com.au). Walk in appointments are available. We request that patients report to reception staff upon your arrival. Despite our best intentions, we sometimes run late due to unexpected urgent attention required by some patient. We appreciate your consideration in this matter and assure you that when it comes to your turn the Doctor will give your problem the time it deserves.
Appointments are at 15-minute intervals. Longer consultations are also available. If you need to see the Doctor for more complex issues, please indicate this to the receptionist so that a longer appointment can be made. Emergencies and sick children will be given priority. Please advise reception
If you are running late for an appointment, please be courteous of others and contact the practice to cancel or change your appointment. Unattended appointment where contact has not been made by the patient will be considered as payable.
Every effort will be made for you to make an appointment with your usual Doctor, however sometimes this is not possible if your Doctor is not available. An alternative Doctor will be offered and if this is not satisfactory an alternative appointment date will be given when your Doctor is back on duty.

Your doctor is accessible by phone, However, we ask that calls be kept short to avoid disrupting other scheduled consultations. If your doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible.

Our medical practice  is accessible from front and rear.  For easy and convenient purpose you can use the rear entrance direct from the shopping village car park in front of Coles shopping center.

Hornsby Council manages the car park.  They have 2 hours limit for car park space.

Our Practice caters for wheelchair access to the building from the main entrance facing Castle Hill Road.  There are designated car park for disability and wheelchair available in the council parking area.

If you require a wheelchair, one is available at the Practice.

In order to ensure optimum confidentiality of patient information, please make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your test results

Our Practice is accredited by AGPAL Accreditation.  This acknowledgement is to ensure that we are meeting the highest standards indicated by the Royal Australian College of Practitioners, which therefore we can pass on the highest standard of medical care possible to our Patients.

To ensure this occurs all General Practitioners, Nurses and Administrative staff undergo assessments every three years and we are required to provide evidence of ongoing internal and external training.
