Shoulder Rehab
The shoulder is a highly mobile joint. There are many variables that affect the quality of shoulder movement.
Our Physios would conduct a thorough verbal and physical assessment into the history and biomechanics of your shoulder. The will also perform special tests to narrow down the diagnosis. These assessment findings will be used along with any imaging taken prior to your appointment to help diagnose and choose the most effective treatment plan.
Back Pain
Each individual spinal vertebrae is required to glide on top or below the other vertebra when you bend twist or rotate. An absence of this movement is what leads to pain and other severe back injuries.
Our Physios will ask specific questions to the nature of your back pain followed by specific tests to help diagnose the root cause of the back pain.
Manual therapy and a specific exercise program will be prescribed to prevent any re injury and worsening of your back symptoms..
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain can be a constant cycle of pain. Most people get back to normal after pain following an injury or operation. But sometimes the pain carries on for longer or comes on without any history of an injury or operation.
Our Physiotherapists will include the education to hep you understand the relationship of pain, exercise and healing. They will highlight clearly what you should be experiencing during exercise although at the start it may be painful. They will combine exercise therapy with any manual or elector therapy to help manage the pain you would experience with exercise.
Neck pain
Everyone has different neck postures due to working conditions, strength deficits and general postural habits.
The neck is a mobile spinal structure. So any lack of movement in this section of the spine and conjunction with poor posture can lead to both acute and chronic neck pain. Sometimes this neck pain can then refer symptoms into the skull as well as into the arms and towards the fingers.
Our Physios will check the history of your neck pain, posture and joint mobility to help identify the root cause and alleviate any symptoms..
Pre and Post Operative Rehabilitation
Weather you are preparing to go into surgery or just have come out of surgery, at Northern Sydney Rehab we have extensive experience providing rehab for patients Pre and Post operation.
Our physio has a personal experience with both Pre and Post surgical ACL reconstruction + Meniscal repair rehabilitation.
Our Physios will liaise with all surgeons regarding recommended rehab protocol and make sure you reach your rehab goals in the set amount of time.
Guided Exercise Program
Our Physiotherapists make sure you are sent home with a thorough understanding of all your exercises. The exercises will be emailed to you with both video tutorials and written instructions.
These videos are accessible from all locations and can be viewed at the convenience of your own smart device.
While completing your exercises at home you are able to communicate through the exercise videos with your physios if you experience any severe pain or discomfort.
Our physios will get back to your questions and concerns as quickly as possible.
